Solar Installations (Photovoltaic / PV Systems)
We are currently in the process of becoming Microgeneration Certification Scheme
(MCS) registered to install Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems.
Once completed we will be able to offer the governments Feed in Tariffs (FIT) for
Solar PV Systems.
From the 1st April 2010 under the
FITs scheme, anyone generating up to 5 megawatts of electricity will
recieve payments for every kilowatt produced for a period of 25 years after installation.
Solar PV Keypoints
- Uses the sun’s energy to generate electricity
- Can earn around £835 per year
- Electricity can be sold to the grid
- Off-grid systems can charge batteries
- Cuts CO2 by around 1.2 tonnes
Solar PV Feed in Tariffs (FITs)
The new Feed in Tariffs are available to anyone who would like to generate their
own electricity, this can be for your home or business. Anyone producing up to 5
megawatts of electricity will automatically qualify and will receive payments for
electricity provided to the grid for 25 years. Your return on investment is approximately
8%, which should pay the initial capital cost of the
PV
system over its lifetime.
The Average domestic system costs between £5,000 and £7,500 per kWp
installed, so for example a 2kWp system will cost approximately £10,000 and
£15,000.
Earning Money from your PV System
Earning money from a PV System is broken down into theee areas for the Feed in Tariff:
